Matthew Cohee President
Mr. Cohee is a founding member of Caliber Analytical Services. He shares the corporate vision of the late co-founder, Christopher Shane, of creating a better way to service environmental testing clientele with prompt response and the retention of an experienced staff of professional employees.

His 27 years of experience in the environmental testing industry includes senior level laboratory positions such as Laboratory Supervisor, Quality Assurance Manager, Laboratory Manager, and Director of Laboratory Information Systems. He has been involved with a variety of software technologies that support laboratory data management systems. He has contributed to the development of LIMSExpress® as a software tool for NELAC compliance. Through the years Matt has acquired extensive expertise in the generation of legally defensible data.

He has also maintained his interest and skills in the analyses of trace metals by ICP-MS, and other chromatography techniques. Matt’s in depth knowledge of the quality control criteria for all the EPA methodologies that CAS employs serves to strengthen the laboratory’s quality system. Matt serves as the Quality Assurance Manager at CAS. He is always available to all CAS’s customers for in depth consultation related to quality control and other technical matters.

Geoffrey Harbin Technical Director
Mr. Harbin joined Caliber Analytical Services as an experienced organic/inorganic chemist. He has over 30 years of laboratory experience spanning all aspects of data acquisition and analysis across a broad spectrum of applications.

Before joining CAS, Geoffrey spent twenty years as a Field Service Engineer for Hewlett Packard/Agilent Technologies, where he was an expert in GC, GC-MS, and ICP-MS. This included applications, software, customer training, as well as repair and compliance delivery.

Prior to this, Geoffrey worked in various laboratories with experience as a chemist/lab manager in environmental, medical, and forensic settings.

As Technical Director, Geoffrey ensures that all of CAS's instrumentation performs at a high level to produce reliable data for all of our clients.

Mary Beth Lysse Senior Inorganic Chemist
Ms. Lysse joined Caliber Analytical Services as an experienced inorganic chemist. She has 16 years of laboratory experience covering all facets of metals digestions and analytical techniques ranging from flame atomic absorption spectroscopy (FLAA) to ICP-MS.

Before joining CAS, Mary Beth spent seven years in supervisory roles for an environmental laboratory and a city water quality laboratory, where she became intimately familiar with a variety of inorganic and aquatic toxicology methodologies. Throughout this experience she developed the skills with analytical instrumentation, software tools, and quality control that will allow CAS to continue to improve upon the fast-response, quality service our customers have come to expect. Her skills, coupled with her energetic attitude, provide a valued addition to CAS’s inorganic services.

Mary Beth is largely responsible for trace metals analyses utilizing the Agilent 7500ce ICP-MS.

David Snell Extraction Chemist
Mr. Snell joined Caliber Analytical Services as a lab technician in the Fall of 2016, after completing his BS degree in Biology at Towson University.  David is currently responsible for the extractions of soil and water samples for the analyses of Diesel Range Organics (DRO), Semivolatile Organic Compounds (SVOCs), Pesticides/PCBs, and Herbicides. David will train on the GC methods in 2017.

Andrea Castillo Client Services / Analytical Chemist
Ms. Castillo joined Caliber Analytical Services as a part time lab technician in the Spring of 2008, her junior year at Towson University. After completing her BS degree in Chemistry with high honors in May 2009, we were extremely pleased to have Andrea join our staff as a full time chemist. She has mastered all of the organic extraction procedures we employ, and is currently responsible for the analyses of Diesel Range Organics by GC-FID, and Pesticides/PCBs and Herbicides by GC-ECD. She will continue to cross-train on the GC-MS methods performed at CAS, and provide the backup that will ensure the uninterrupted quality services our customers have come to depend on.

Andrea was rewarded for her research on phosphanyl(organyl) boranes (POBs) with a trip to Capitol Hill to present a research poster for the 2009 Council of Undergraduate Research.

Andrea is now involved with client services and has taken on a supervisory role in the Extractions & GCs department.
